I love this, my hope is more join in and post their dates for activities.. great, now things like golf tournaments will see who is having what on what date, and we can plan our weekend accordingly

  • Karina says:

Thanks for the positive feedback Donna! That is my intent, that this might help us {Northshore residents} attend each other’s events more often. Hoping that Townships, EDCs and businesses will see http://www.OntarioNewsNorth.com as an opportunity to reach a regional audience.

    Hi Karina,
    Great site!
Just discovered your site through a link with Superior North CFDC. Ron has just added our Festival.
Wondering if we could use your excellent site as a way to promote not only our site, but the Festival?
It’s on May 15 and 16, in Dorion.
    Thx,
    Susan

  • Karina says:

Just click on the date Luc and you should be brought to a new window to add. Let me know if you have any more problems (have added the Fish Derby, left the Strongman for you to try). K.

    Hi Karina,
I don’t seem to be able to add to the calendar…and how do I remove the sidebar (right) that covers the Saturday row?

  • Karina says:

    Hi Susan,

I’ve removed the sidebars from this page and feel it looks alot better (welcome your opinion). You should be able to click on the “Google Calendar” Icon, bottom left corner of the calendar, I did already add the Dorion Bird Fest though you should be able to edit if I didn’t put enough details.

Thanks for your continued contributions! K.

Ok everyone, so unfortunately I spent some time in the wee hours of the morning trying to find and install a better calendar than this but unfortunately this seems to be the one with the best ‘look’. I will add this info to the top of the page a.s.a.p. but for now here’s the deal…

To be able to post events you need to be approved, those of you who posted here I added your emails to the calendar account so you are approved, any others wanting to post please send me an email, it takes just a second and I will add you (Editor@OntarioNewsNorth.com). I think you may also have to have a google account but I thought this was acceptable as the majority of ppl do and those who don’t may realize this is just one of many services available with the account (it’s free).

Another great feature, if you use Outlook as your email editor you can Sync with the calendar to get updates and notifications (fully customizable) when events you are interested in appear.

I’m going to let everyone try this out for another week and if feedback is not positive, events are not being posted I will see what I can find as another calendar option.

Thanks for all your feedback! K.

Just discovered your site by Googling “Greenstone”, and came across OPP news item. Site is a great idea! Any plans to take in Greenstone on a regular basis?

  • Karina says:

Hi Edgar, thanks for reading! Yes, actually hoping to include Greenstone by 2012… If you know of any freelancers in your area however I’d definetly consider carrying more of Greenstone sooner.

Finding the writers has been the challenge with covering the shore consistently.

I do publish most Greenstone OPP news that comes through but for now it goes through the main headlines without it’s own column like the other towns have. You can click on the law enforcement button from the home page to browse those faster.
